Program Overview

WHAT TO EXPECT

The first twelve months decide most of what your dog becomes. GTX K9's puppy training program brings Henry to your home in Georgetown, TX (and Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Pflugerville, and north Austin) to get the foundation right before bad habits set: house training, crate routine, biting and nipping, jumping, leash introduction, and the first real obedience commands. It's delivered through the In-Home Training Package — five private sessions for a flat $1,500 — with a curriculum written for puppies instead of adult dogs.

Puppies don't need a drill sergeant, and they don't need a free-for-all either. They need clear structure, short sessions, a lot of reward, and an owner who knows what to do the moment the puppy bites a sleeve or squats on the rug. Henry coaches you through every one of those moments so you stop guessing and the puppy stops rehearsing the wrong thing. By the end of the package you have a puppy that's house trained, crate-comfortable, walking on a loose leash, and responsive to sit, down, come, and place.

Ideal Candidate

WHO IT'S FOR

Puppies roughly 8 weeks to 12 months old and the families raising them. Ideal for first-time owners who want to start right, families with young kids who need the biting under control, and anyone bringing home a working breed that will need a solid foundation before adolescence hits.

Timing

WHEN TO START PUPPY TRAINING

The honest answer is the week your puppy comes home. The socialization window closes around 16 weeks, and what a puppy experiences before then — surfaces, sounds, strangers, calm adult dogs, car rides, the vet lobby — shapes how confident they'll be for life. You don't need to wait for vaccinations to finish to start training; you need to be smart about where the puppy's paws go. Henry's first session covers exactly how to socialize safely in Georgetown before the shot series is done.

Obedience starts early too. An eight-week-old puppy can learn sit, down, and a recall in a few days if the sessions are short and the rewards are right. What most owners get wrong isn't starting too early — it's letting the puppy practice jumping, biting, and pulling for four months and then trying to un-train it. The package is built to prevent that.

The Curriculum

WHAT THE FIVE PUPPY SESSIONS COVER

Session one is the setup: crate placement, a house-training schedule that matches your puppy's age, how to handle biting today, and the first marker and engagement games. Session two builds sit, down, and the beginning of place, and introduces the leash and collar inside the house. Session three moves outside — the driveway, then your street — for loose-leash walking and a recall with distractions. Session four is about the real world: guests at the door, the neighbor's dog, kids running, the first patio trip. Session five is a review and handoff, and covers what to expect through adolescence, when a lot of the training seems to fall apart around seven to nine months.

Between sessions you get homework that takes ten minutes a day, and access to Henry online when something new comes up. The two free Georgetown Square classes come once your puppy is ready for crowds and other dogs, and they're the best socialization environment in town.

Beyond Puppyhood

WHAT COMES AFTER

Most puppies who finish the package don't need more formal training — they need consistency, and you'll have the tools for that. Some families with high-drive breeds go on to the board and train around a year old for advanced off-leash reliability, and a few move into sport and working dog training. Whichever direction you go, the puppy foundation makes everything later faster and easier, and your lifetime online support with Henry never expires.

PUPPY TRAINING IN GEORGETOWN, TX

The Standard

THE GTX K9
DIFFERENCE.

Group puppy classes teach in a room full of other puppies for an hour a week; the rest of the week the puppy is learning from you at home, whether you mean to teach or not. GTX K9's puppy training happens where the puppy lives, so the crate routine, house training, and door manners are built in the exact places they need to work. Henry has raised and trained working dogs from eight weeks old and knows what a puppy needs at each stage — and what it doesn't. You get a plan, hands-on coaching, and lifetime access to a trainer who already knows your dog.

With a consistent schedule, most puppies are reliably house trained within two to four weeks of starting the program. The key is a routine matched to your puppy's age and never letting accidents get rehearsed unsupervised.

The program is built for puppies from about 8 weeks to 12 months. Adolescent dogs over a year with manners problems fit the standard in-home dog training package; dogs with reactivity or aggression should book an evaluation for the behavior program.
